Portfolio Assignment

Select two or three projects/assignments you completed during your OM&IS program that reflect your mastery of two out of the four OM&IS Learning Outcomes as listed on the Template. You do not need to turn in the projects or assignments you select.

Please indicate, however, from which course each project originated as asked on the template. A link to the rubric for each Learning Outcome is also on the template.

Write approximately one page (single-spaced) for each of the two outcomes you select describing the following:
  1. the focus of the project or assignment;

  2. why you believe the selected project/assignment shows your understanding of that particular learning outcome -- why did you pick this assignment over others;


  3. how did a skill learned in an earlier class help you in this project (if this occurred);


  4. what is the most important thing you learned or gained from the selected project or assignment;


  5. if this was a team-based project, how would you rate the effectiveness of your team and why.


Using the template , create links to each of your one-page papers for the two Learning Outcomes you select. Save the template as "index.html" and upload this template and the two Word (or PPT) documents to the omis5 server. Email the web address to Sue Goad (suegoad@niu.edu) using "OM&IS Portfolio" in the subject line.
