PurposeA portfolio is an organized collection of work that reflects your accomplishments, skills, and abilities. Why is the OM&IS Department requiring its majors to complete an electronic portfolio?The answer to that question is two-fold. First, as a department we need to assess that OM&IS majors are graduating with a good grasp of the learning outcomes identified as important for all our students. The portfolio you complete will be used to assess our curriculum, not our students or faculty. The second reason for this new requirement is that a portfolio is organized evidence of work readiness and specific job skills. With a portfolio, you will be able to show employers evidence of your skills and make a case for your work preparedness. |
